East Ventures fostered startups, Smart Shop, has now transformed into a startup that puts forward the concept of new retail by strengthening its position in the B2B e-commerce market.

After acquiring Bizzy earlier this year with a value of $45 million or around Rp. 633 billion, the company still has many plans and targets to achieve. To DailySocial, Co-Founder & CEO of Warung Pintar Agung Bezharie revealed several important points and plans for the company, which has a centaur valuation (more than $100 million) in the future.

Established in 2017, Warung Pintar offers solutions to problems faced by micro-enterprises that have been the foundation of the Indonesian economy. The current product development that occurs within the Warung Pintar Group is claimed to be the result of deep understanding.

"Every experiment, the discussions that occur with various stakeholder in the ecosystem general trade, as well as various perspectives that continue to intersect from the Warung Pintar team, sharpening the solutions that we are trying to present to continue to provide more value in the distribution process in the warung business in Indonesia," said Agung.

Currently, more and more startups are targeting cities in tier 2 and 3. Agung ensures that Warung Pintar does not only focus on expansion in tier 1 cities.

Banyuwangi be the first step in their spread outside the big cities and become blue print in determining the right strategy according to the needs of the city. The company and the Banyuwangi Regency Government implement the strategy hyperlocal, in the form of empowering local MSMEs to sell at Warung Pintar and making the Warung Pintar unit a tourism information center.

As of today, Warung Pintar Group has been in more than 150 cities and regencies in Indonesia. 52 warehouse owned by Warung Pintar Group, in collaboration with more than 350 wholesalers and distributors in Indonesia, it is possible for the company to reach more cities in less time.

Warung Pintar is also active in establishing strategic partnerships with startups and technology companies.
