Tripal Releases Applications, Local Guides From All Over Indonesia

Simultaneously also tighten the verification process online and offline

Services marketplace traveler liaison with local tour guide tripal launch the app mobile devices to make it easier for users to connect with the service. The Tripal application is currently only available on the Android platform, while for iOS it will follow in the next few months.

In the Tripal application, users can search for destinations with a more friendly UI/UX design. Then search for destinations by trip category, updated calendar, verification system passed rating /review two-way, and payment methods using DOKU.

"From the web there are obstacles, especially when there are many limitations on transactions. Finally, consumers give us a lot of input. For this reason, in this application, we return to Tripal's focus, namely on PAL (local guides) specifically, so that it is easier for users to find information," said Tripal Founder and CEO Kevin Wu, Thursday (5/4).

According to Kevin, the presence of the application can boost more users, both in terms of travelers and local guides themselves. However, in order to anticipate unwanted actions from happening, the company applies a verification process in layers, both online and offline.

For online verification, prospective guides are required to upload personal data starting from ID cards, family cards, and account numbers. The company even plans to require the collection of SKCK (Police Record Certificate) to ensure security.

Meanwhile, for offline verification, Tripal will use assistance from communities that have partnered with companies, such as the Indonesian Photography Community and the Indonesian Guides Association (HPI) to meet face-to-face with prospective guides.

"Because our goal is serious, then to become a PAL cannot be arbitrary. In fact, we plan to cooperate with the Ministry of Tourism so that an official certificate is made, all PAL who are members of us can be registered to make it more secure."

Tripal business plan

Kevin continued that throughout this year his party is targeting to be able to capture 1000 PAL (tour guides) from all over Indonesia. As for last year, the company has captured 300 PAL spread across 19 provinces, with a total of more than 5900 users. Tripal users are spread across Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Central Java, NTB, Lampung, Sulawesi, to West Kalimantan.

For monetization, the company does not cut costs at all for tour guides. The minimum income that the guide can receive in a day is IDR 100 with a maximum value that is not specified.

So the guide fees listed in the application are pure money that they will actually receive after they finish accompanying travelers. The company provides a number of service fees to consumers. These additional costs will go into the company's pocket.

"From the beginning, we have made a commitment that we will not cut costs for PALs. For free registration, they get additional income without any deductions. That's why we emphasize more on costs to consumers for our monetization."

The company will also continue to improve the quality of its business, by participating as a participant in the Indigo Creative Nation Batch 2. In this incubator and accelerator program, the company will receive facilities in the form of coaching, mentor, and some funds for business development.
