Proptech Startup “Kabina” Receives Initial Funding Led by East Ventures

Startups proptech and construction Kabina announced the acquisition of early-stage funding led by East Ventures, with participation from several angel investors, including the celebrity Sandra Dewi. No mention of the nominal received in this round.

Cabin will allocate fresh funds for product development and team expansion, as well as invest in equipment and solutions that contribute to more responsible and sustainable operations in the industry.

East Ventures partner Avin Sugiarto added that the inclusion of Kabina in the East Ventures ecosystem is believed to be increasingly successful strengthen the sector proptech, in order to democratize the construction and property industry in Indonesia with efficient and sustainable materials and processes.

Cabin Solutions

Fred decided to establish Kabina in 2020 because the construction and property industry here is still facing challenges cost inefficiency and estimated time. With his work as a designer, he also sees a lack of awareness and commitment in minimizing negative environmental impacts, especially related to the continuous use of energy-intensive equipment.

He believes Kabina can be a solution to existing problems. Kabina can minimize or even eliminate challenges through the integration of technology-based solutions in the construction process and technology development. This startup focuses on simplifying the construction process by utilizing modularity, pre-fabrication, and using wood as the main material sourced from sustainably managed forests certified by the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council).

Kabina uses wood as a key material in creating inspiring and sustainable structures, products and solutions. Combining technology and innovation with sustainable, natural ingredients, Kabina's products are part of people's daily lives in various forms and scales.

Fred ensures a balanced combination of critical elements and customer needs in delivering the solution. With regard to housing clusters, Kabina creates multi-functional structures that allow customers to easily adapt and reconstruct building structures based on different needs.

In the future, Kabina will launch other offerings related to the lifestyle and needs of customers, including: Kabina House, Kabina Space, Kabina Suite, Kabina Studio, Kabina Lounge, Kabina Play, and many more.

Some of the attractive offers include: Kabina Market, a retail platform with an open space concept (outdoor); there is at least 50% outdoor area. Kabina Market will be located in strategic areas to connect customers with various brands/retails while taking into account new customer preferences.

Kabina will also integrate its SaaS solution, namely Kabina Life in digitizing and simplifying property management and real estate market. Users can get information related to visitor management as well as make facility reservations and monthly service payments in one application.

Currently the Kabina team has a total of 16 people mostly based in Indonesia, and 65% of the team are women.
