Futuristic Retail Store JD.ID X Presents in Jakarta, Showcases Online-Offline Shopping Experience

Using artificial intelligence technology and RFID scanners for the identification process

JD.ID inaugurated "JD.ID X" in Jakarta, a retail store with artificial intelligence (AI) technology that tries to provide a shopping experience online-offline new. The concept of a cashier-less shop and connected to such an application is relatively new here, although there are already many out there, especially in China as the main base. JD.ID.

We will also make JD.ID X a learning center for sustainable technology development, because we believe that AI has a lot of potential that can be used in all lines of business, including E-commerce which is the core business of JD.ID," said JD.ID President Director Zhang Li.

In its initial debut, JD.ID X offered products in the category fashion, cosmetics, accessories and beauty, non-electronic household products, and daily necessities. JD.ID X also offers private-label which is available exclusively at JD.ID.

JD.ID X's Project Manager, Eyvette Tung said, "In the future, people will be very accustomed to doing daily shopping activities on a non-cash basis. We have developed highly personalized facial scanning technology to increase convenience and make customers feel comfortable."
