Collaborating with Qiscus, Bukalapak Implements Integrated Chat Technology

Tech development startups real-time communication (RTC) to help companies develop and manage chatbots Qiscus announced a collaboration with Bukalapak to bring a chat feature to millions of Bukalapak users.

The common vision between Qiscus and Bukalapak is one of the reasons why this collaboration exists.

"This collaboration is quite a challenge for Qiscus. Even though we are sovereign as a pioneer of chat technology development in Indonesia, handling a client as big as Bukalapak still has its own challenges. One of them is how we can apply best practice technology to optimize in-house chat system Bukalapak to continue to operate as it should even though a system update is being carried out. This is important considering that currently Bukalapak is used by tens of millions of users in Indonesia who need optimal service," said Qiscus Delta CEO Purna Widyangga.

With fundamental changes in terms of architecture, it is hoped that chat performance in the Bukalapak application can continue to be able to handle social media traffic from customers who continue to grow in the Bukalapak business.

Bukalapak targets through this collaboration to maximize server use 4 times, use bandwidth by 20 times, and reduce expenses.

"Chat is used as an effective communication medium for partners and customers to understand each other's needs. Effective communication will present innovative solutions and programs. However, with the high business growth at Bukalapak, the chat feature in this application requires a lot of effort, especially in technical matters such as developing advanced features or optimizing server use, which affects operational costs," said VP Engineering Bukalapak Ibrahim Arief.
