DailySocial Report: Uber's Post-Acquisition Consumer Transition Survey

55% of respondents admitted to switching to services Grab, the other 45% to GO-JEK

On March 26 2018, then, Grab formally announced its acquisition of Uber's Southeast Asia business unit. This news was delivered directly by the Co-Founder & Group CEO Grab Anthony Tan. The initiative was carried out to strengthen the service vision Grab in Southeast Asia, to create cost-effective transportation services.

Now all Uber services have stopped operating in Southeast Asia, including Indonesia. Then raises the question, what about the consumer base that Uber already has? Where are they transitioning to, given the service on-demand has become a necessity for many people? What do they expect from the service on-demand new used?

To answer these questions, DailySocial in collaboration with the JakPat Mobile Survey Platform conducted a survey of Uber users from various cities in Uber's operational areas in Indonesia.

From the survey there were several interesting findings, including:

  • As many as 54,53% of respondents said they had switched to services Grab, while 44,71% switched to GO-JEK services.
  • Lower costs are one of the main considerations of respondents when switching to services on-demand
  • The issue that users often experience when using Uber is driver partners who are sometimes difficult to find.
  • As many as 77,94% of respondents expect Uber services to return to operations in Indonesia as usual.

In addition to the four points above, there are several other findings that have been successfully summarized in the survey. Including knowing what services are the easiest to find around the respondent's place of residence, what is boring about Uber services, to the factors that influence them in choosing a service. on-demand.
