Bank Permata Releases Latest Mobile Banking Application "PermataMobile X"

Permata Bank released the app mobile banking new "PermataMobile X" in response to rapid technological developments and people's lifestyles that are all mobile. Customers will slowly be encouraged to migrate from the old version of the Permata Mobile application which will be closed over time.

Bank Permata President Director Ridha DM Wirakusumah said, PermataMobile X is not just a digital technology offering but is the main solution in serving customers. This application was designed for approximately 1,5 years based on customer input on howbanking and give customer experience optimal yang.

"We always invest in this platform in a sustainable manner by placing the right and appropriate technology to realize our aspiration to become a bank that is tailored, almostand reliable," he explained, Wednesday (1/8).

Chief Information Officer & Director of Technology & Operations of Bank Permata Abdy D Salimin added, PermataMobile X apart from being a banking platform to acquire new customers, it can add sales channels for various financial products. The value of IT investment prepared by Bank Permata will be tightened along with the presence of the latest application. Unfortunately Abdy refused to mention the details of the numbers.

"Now we don't just focus on service or payment only, but it has penetrated into Sales. For example, you can create an account online, buy mutual fund products, apply for a loan, so sales can increase," said Abdy.

Regarding the plan to close the old version of the application, according to Abdy, banks will start gradually migrating customers. It is claimed that from a total of two million Permata Bank customers, more than 600 thousand of them are Permata Mobile users. Therefore, banks cannot immediately force all of them to switch.

"If [Permata Mobile] is immediately closed, customers will get angry. That's why we give a transition period, we will continue to monitor until the customer is ready. Then the old application will be deleted."

Permata Bank's digital technology journey

Before finally inaugurating the new application, in his presentation Abdy explained that Permata Bank has consistently developed digital technology not only for customers but also in the bank's internal operations for the past 1,5 years.

Some of them are Touch id, Face id, Voice id, open an account online, buy/sell SBN, bonds, and mutual funds. Then for SME customers and Wholesale, there is a banking API innovation, digital value chainsand digital loan processing. Some of these innovations are claimed to be the first time carried out by banks in Indonesia.

"We also have datalake, a big data that contains input from consumers. We can get input for the next product development. Big data is still new, we will invest more in it."

Since launching the Permata Mobile application, this service is claimed to have been accessed up to 56 million times for logins alone, or up 77% year-on-year (yoy). A total of 165 million transactions (up 87%) with nominal funds of Rp1.224 trillion (up 11%), were carried out digitally. When broken down further, the nominal came from the purchase of time deposits (36%), savings (25%), mutual funds (18%), and bonds (11%).

PermataMobile X is claimed to have more than 200 features in the application, some of which are already present in Permata Mobile. There are also new developments, including viewing accounts in one screen (Single Customer View), transfer transactions up to 12 months for all accounts, transfer funds to mobile numbers, and so on.

"PermataMobile X is not only for customers, because in the future non-customers can also apply for KTA and credit cards online through this application," concluded Abdy.

Bank Permata plans to launch new account opening innovations, credit cards, and QR codes for alternative payment methods. This application can be downloaded, both for Android and iOS versions.
