Natali Ardianto's Optimism is Serious about the Healthtech Segment

Become the Co-Founder and CEO of Indopacific Teknologi Medika Indonesia. Startup focus and branding is still a secret

Catcha Group at the end of last year released three predictions regarding the future of the startup industry in Indonesia until 2020. One of them is about predicting the potential for the next unicorn startup in Indonesia from the fintech and healthtech (health technology) segments.

This prediction is acceptable. Market share healthcare in Indonesia is predicted to reach $363 billion in 2025, an 18-fold increase from $20 billion in 2010. This increase is driven by high demand for health services.

Behind this great potential, there are challenges that still haunt the healthcare industry, such as the lack of medical personnel in the regions and uneven health facilities. Many think that only the rich can get treatment because of the high cost of treatment.

Co-Founder Ticket Natali Ardianto has decided to now enter the healthtech sector, which will be released later this year. Had a moment to struggle with fintech startups GoldDigi, Natali confirmed she had exit of the startup and full time developing this new startup.

"I personally like to start small to really big. TAM [total addressable market] in healthcare it's big, but it's not there yet success storyher in Indonesia. It's the same as what happened in OTA, when Tiket was launched in 2011, it's because the TAM is also big and the players don't exist yet," he explained to DailySocial.

He considers that healthtech startups in Indonesia are still in the early stages infant, meaning that many players are just starting out because they are aware of their potential and are competing to be the biggest. He was not worried because there was an opportunity to work with the new startup.

Natali is now the Co-Founder and CEO of Indopacific Teknologi Medika Indonesia (ITMI) and Advisor to Indopacific Medika Investama (IMI). IMI is a company holding which oversees a number of health services, such as PharmaPlus (pharmacies), Homecare24 (service application homecare and nurses), and PrimeCare Clinic (clinic for specialists and general practitioners).

IMI is affiliated with the Kwari family of businessmen who have been in the healthcare world for 40 years.

ITMI will be a startup healthtech under IMI with two services to be released later this year. With various considerations, Natali has not been able to reveal more about the name of the startup and its segment healthtech which will be encroached.

"As for what, it can't bedisclose. But we will create two digital products that will belaunch the end of this year."

ITMI is Natali's fifth startup. His first startup was Urbanesia (city directory) which was acquired by Kompas. Next are Golfnesia (a golf sports booking site), Tiket (OTA) which was acquired by the Djarum Group through Blibli, and EmasDigi (an online gold buying and selling site).

ITMI optimism

Although reluctant to go into details, Natali has high optimism for ITMI. He projects that within two years the company has made a profit and has a 0,07% market share healthcare in Indonesia.

He reasoned that the product being made had proven successful overseas. ITMI only replicates and modifies it according to conditions in Indonesia. It is claimed that this service actually already exists offline, it's just that the form is now digitized.

"As well as Gojek, they digitize motorcycle taxi drivers. But the ojek itself has been around for a long time. So, that's what we're working on. The point is, if you want to digitize the product, you have to know how to make the product online. It's our job[engineer], but when it comes to the industry itself it takes expert."

ITMI products are currently still in the development stage and are planned to be complementary products with sister companies within the scope of the IMI.

The team has just officially started working since June 17 with the initial number of employees reaching 11 people. Natali is co-founder with four other people, all of whom happen to have worked at Tiket.

Natali hopes to recruit many engineers to accelerate the development of ITMI so that by the end of the year the total team members will reach 52 people. In terms of company status, ITMI has been supported by Pre Series A funding from holding.

"[In the CEO position] now I got to be able to run the company the way I really wanted. So the key word is execution, so I can't say much. I hope that with my experience [from previous companies] the execution that we do is right," he concluded.

Natali's entry into this segment has also enlivened the competition map for healthech startups in Indonesia. Previous players in between HealthReplies.com, Halodoc, Medigo, HubSehat, Ayomed, Check.id, HealthyQ, Medi-Call, and many more.
