Monika Rudijono Becomes President Director of Uber Indonesia

Uber announced the appointment of Monika Rudijono as President Director of Uber Indonesia effective January 2018. Monika was previously the President Director of Gray Group Indonesia, a leading advertising agency, and holds a degree in Business Administration in Marketing and Finance from UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business.

Monika will fill the vacant position left by Alan Jiang earlier this year. Alan resigns regarding bribery scandal involving local employees. While this issue is not widely discussed locally, it has prompted Uber globally, under the leadership of new CEO Dara Khosrowshahi, to practice a cleaner business.

Monika himself has about 20 years of experience working in the world of advertising and marketing agencies. In addition to Gray Indonesia, he had time to take part in FCB, Leo Burnett, and Isobar.

Monika has the task of leading Uber to face tougher competition in the sector on-demand which continues to grow, with competitors GO-JEK and Grab. Uber in Indonesia is still focused on the transportation and delivery of goods sector and is already present in 34 cities and 7 provinces.

They still haven't launched the UberEATS food delivery service which was originally expected to arrive in 2017.
