Indonesian NLP Developer Prosa.ai Get Investment from Kaskus

Today (08/10), Kaskus officially announced its investment in Prosa.ai, developer of the Natural Language Processors (NLP) platform for Indonesian. It was not disclosed regarding the details of the funding provided. So far, Prosa.ai's products have focused on Text & Speech-based Processing Tools, which are custom made according to the needs of their clients.

In his remarks, Kaskus CEO, Edi Taslim said that the company sees Prosa.ai as having great potential and competence through its services. Prosa.ai is considered the first software company to successfully deliver comprehensive NLP for Indonesian. In the near future, Kaskus will apply the Prosa.ai service to filter news hoax or negative in the forum, so as to present more positive content to Kaskuser.

"We are very happy to be one of the initial partners in the development of Prosa.ai through this investment. We hope this investment can help the development of Prosa.ai in the future," said Edi.

prose.ai initiated in early 2018, led by Ayu Purwarianti as NLP Chief Scientist. The product developed has a mission to imitate the human ability to analyze a text and a conversation.

In its implementation, Prosa.ai has two main products. The first is Prose Text (product name for text recognition), providing services in the form of APIs and also customized application. Some of them are news identification hoaxes, hate speeches, opinion extraction, document type classification, extraction of special information, tools basic NLP, and others.

While Prose Speech (the product name for voice recognition), allows the machine to recognize speech in Indonesian, synthesize speech, recognize the identity of the speaker, and recognize the intent and emotion of speech. This allows the machine to receive input and output in speech, as in voice command,voice-id biometrics, or media system monitoring.
