JNE Invests IDR 455 Billion for Infrastructure and Technology Development

Earlier this year, JNE launched the 2016 Magnificent program which consisted of seven new services as a form of commitment to infrastructure and technology development

The unstoppable rate of technological growth has succeeded in making the e-commerce industry in Indonesia vibrant and its impact can be felt in various sectors, for example logistics. JNE as one of the logistics players in Indonesia responded to this by disbursing Rp 455 billion for infrastructure and technology development. The initial step was shown through the launch of the 7 Magnificent program in early 2016 which consisted of seven new JNE services.

At the beginning of 2016, JNE was committed to developing the infrastructure and technology sector by investing Rp 455 billion. The funds will be allocated Rp 400 billion for infrastructure development and the remaining Rp 55 billion for technology development. JNE itself hopes to pursue growth, at a minimum, at an average rate of 30 percent per year.

JNE President Director Mohamad Feriadi said, "We plan to build infrastructure, improve IT, as well as improve human capital we. The company plans to invest Rp 400 billion for infrastructure and Rp 55 billion for ICT. We started this by realizing the plan we made late last year by presenting 7 Magnificent, […] seven [new] JNE products that hopefully can provide solutions for the community.”

The seven new products in question are applications mobile devices named My JNE, JNE-PopBox, @box prepaid, JNE Super Speed, JNE International Shipment, JNE Trucking, and music CD service.

Seven new JNE services

  1. My JNE

My JNE is application mobile devices based Android which is connected to the telephone number of JNE Express customers, both the sender and the recipient. This application allows users to find out JNE shipping rates, monitor delivery status, find the location of the nearest JNE agent, and make transactions between sellers and individual buyers.

In addition, there are also new features that did not exist in the previous application, such as the history of shipping data connected to the user's phone number and the My COD (Cash On Digital) feature which provides online shopping payment services with the system. escrow through Permata bank. The My JNE application itself can be present due to the collaboration with Indivara Sejahtera Sukses Makmur (Indivara Group) which recently presented the service VioletPay.

  1. JNE-PopBox

This service is present in collaboration between JNE and Asian PopBox which provides smart counter services. Through this service, customers can pick up documents or packages at PopBox locker locations spread across 32 points in Jakarta, from shopping centers, train stations, to campuses. However, currently the service is only for customers with the JNE Loyalty Club Card which can only be purchased at 12 JNE representative offices in Jakarta.

Regarding this collaboration, PopBox Co-founder Greta Bunawan said, “We excited with this JNE-PopBox collaboration. We hope that this collaboration will unlock more channel again to online sellers, both large and SMEs [for access to package delivery services].”

  1. @box prepaid

The @box prepaid service is a product in the form of a cardboard box (box) issued by JNE as a shipping support tool and is traded for shipping in the DKI Jakarta area. The price of the box itself includes postage. There are 2 types of prepaid boxes, the first is @Box 2 Prepaid (Rp 22.000) with a size of (W) 30 x (L) 30 x (H) 12 (Volumetric = 1.9 m3) with a maximum weight of 3 kg. While the second is @Box 3 Prepaid (Rp 40.000) measuring (W) 35 x (L) 33 x (H) 17 (Volumetric = 2.7 m3) with a maximum weight of 5 kg.

  1. JNE Super Speed ​​(promo period)

This service promises one day delivery to the destination. Previously, JNE SS charged Rp 80.000 during the promo period from February 8, 2016, 08.00 – 15.00 WIB, specifically for deliveries from and to Jakarta the tariff was Rp. 40.000 per kilogram and the next weight amount was Rp. 4.000 per kilogram.

  1. JNE Trucking

JNE Trucking is a service for shipping goods weighing 10 kilograms and above. In the early stages, this service operates in Sumatra, Java and Bali. This JNE Trucking service also provides motorbike deliveries for the <150cc and >150cc categories with separate rates (different from the package delivery rates).

  1. JNE International Shipping

In this service, JNE cooperates with DHL for shipping goods to European countries. As for Asian countries, JNE cooperates with Sung Fung. The main destination countries are Asia Pacific countries such as Singapore, China, and Hong Kong.

  1. Music CD Service

Through the Music CD service, JNE wants to network o they can be used by Indonesian musicians to market their work. The Indonesian Music CD is sold at 153 JNE outlets throughout Indonesia and the website Charm (Order By-By Nusantara).
