It has been confirmed by the Minister of Communication and Informatics Rudiantara, still creating relations by creating a steering committee

Originally agree, but now there is news that Alibaba Group founder Jack Ma has been worked on by the Malaysian government to assist development E-commerce in that country. This news has also been confirmed by the Minister of Communication and Information, Rudiantara, as reported by Kompas.

"We've made a fuss, we finally lost to Malaysia. They went first. There's already a photo of Jack Ma shaking hands with the Malaysian PM," said Rudiantara.

This came as a bit of a surprise when the Indonesian government finally issued its 14th economic policy package on Thursday (10/11). In the Presidential Regulation concerning Service Roadmaps E-commerce which will be published soon, there are 8 regulatory aspects which include funding, taxation, consumer protection, education and human resources, logistics, infrastructure, cyber security and the last one is the establishment of an Implementing Management that will systematically and coordinated monitoring and evaluation of service roadmap implementation E-commerce.

Rudiantara was reluctant to mention why in the end Jack Ma failed to become the government's economic adviser, especially for business affairs E-commerce. However, it is certain that the delay in assertiveness from the Indonesian government stems from the pros and cons in the country after President Joko Widodo's visit in September 2016 to Alibaba Group's headquarters in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China.

Startup activists support the presence of Jack Ma

Previously DailySocial had held a small survey and asked startup activists and associations about the Indonesian government's plan to make Jack Ma an advisor for business E-commerce in Indonesia. Most of them welcome and even expect to get insight interesting related to the experience and strategy of Jack Ma.

However, there are also many practitioners and other circles who do not welcome Jack Ma's presence in Indonesia, for various reasons, of course. Starting from disrupting the service E-commerce local to worry national security issues.

However, the government, represented by the Ministry of Communication and Information, still supports 100% of Jack Ma's presence in Indonesia. With the failure of Jack Ma to enliven the industry E-commerce In Indonesia, this is enough to hinder the government's plans to develop services E-commerce in the homeland. For this reason, Rudiantara emphasized that he is still trying to ask for help in this matter insight or direct advice from this globally known figure. Rudiantara will first coordinate with the Coordinating Minister for the Economy Darmin Nasution regarding this matter.

"There will be steering committee, ministerial members. They will get input, both at home and abroad, internationally. Input can come from anyone, one of them is Jack Ma," said Rudiantara.
