E-commerce in Indonesia it's really 'hot', we've been talking about it for a long time, waiting for it to grow. No one can argue that this industry is still in its infancy, and looking for room to grow into a full-scale industry with a significant impact on the Indonesian economy.

One other thing that cannot be denied is the role of the government in maintaining the surrounding ecosystem E-commerce. idEA founded by Plasa, DealGoing, Berniaga, Multiply, Blibli, Bhinneka, Tokobagus, Tokopedia, Gramedia Online and Kaskus. This association is led by the CEO of Tokopedia, William Tanuwidjaja as Chairman of the Advisory Board and CEO of Multiply Indonesia, Daniel Tumiwa as Chairman of the Governing Council.

The basic idea of idEA this is to be a company representative E-commerce in Indonesia and dealing with the government on regulations and policies. They will also focus on various issues such as education E-commerce, industrial regulation, intellectual property, payments, cyber crime, logistics and consumer protection. idEA will engage with government and non-governmental bodies such as the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Ministry of Finance, Consumer Protection Foundation, etc.

I see idEA as like The Avengers, a group of super-corporations who use their influence and high-level connections to grow the industry and fight crime. Of course these companies have their own agendas, but they share a common mission to grow the industry.

I hope a lot from idEA in the near future, hopefully their existence can really make a significant contribution to growing the industry E-commerce in Indonesia.
