Indonesian IoT Association Soon to be Inaugurated

Hold a national meeting on December 13, discuss the program and achievement targets

Indonesia finally has an association that accommodates activists Internet of Things (IoT). The association is a transformation of the Indonesia IoT Forum, now the Indonesian IoT Association (ASIoTI). ASIoTI plans to hold the first national meeting (Munas) on December 13, as well as inaugurate the organizational structure and work program design for the next year.

Dycode CEO Andri Yadi who took part in the birth of ASIoTI said that this association is an official forum for every person who has a vision to develop the IoT ecosystem in Indonesia. Not only practitioners but also other activists such as academics, regulators, and other parties; who want to work together to make Indonesia's IoT ecosystem even better.

The main purpose of establishing ASIoTI is to assist the government by providing inputs related to IoT policies, including helping to provide standardization and certification for the IoT ecosystem which will be increasingly needed in the future.

"IoT is new, government also still groping, so no one is more appropriate except the government Chat with industry. So to make it easier, a container was formed to make it easier," said Andri.

Several parties who will later join ASIoTI include Dycode CEO Andri Yadi, Director & Chief Innovation Regulation Office Indosat Ooredoo Arief Musta'in, Network Director Telkomsel Bob Apriawan, CEO of Prasimax Didi Setiadi, Bussiness Development Polytron Joegianto, Chairman of Mastel Kristiono, Managing Director of Cisco Indonesia, Founder of Indonesia IoT Forum Teguh Prasetya, and others.

"As the Project Coordinator for the IoT Goes to Market campaign held in five cities by the Indonesia IoT Forum, I feel it's time for this forum to develop so that it can provide more benefits," said the representative. Indonesia IoT Forum (which is now ASIoTI) Fita Indah Mulani.

Regarding the association's plans in the future, Fita explained that some are being finalized, only to be inaugurated when the National Conference is held. One of the things that will be done is the focus of development makers, transfer of knowledge to campuses and vocational schools, and several other programs.

"There are a few more godog [the ASIoTI plan], will only be knocked at the congress later. But for sure we want to focus on developing makers and transfer Knowledge to colleges and high schools. There is also a certification. There is a program and support the issuance of regulations related to IoT," added Fita.
