Incubation and Mentorship Programs Rise in Indonesia

In the last few months, we many see the incubation program and mentoring for startup founders emerged in Indonesia. There are programs like Red White Inc (Dailysocial is involved here), East Ventures Alpha, Jakarta Founders Institute, Project Eden, Telkomsel Bootcamp and some more programs similar.

These programs began to emerge from the beginning of 2011, and in the last few months it has been seen that several business entities are trying to enter this growing industry. technology company, telco and even large business groups are among those who are pushing for programs of this kind, which are certainly in line with their business interests.

2010 was the year when investors came to Indonesia, I also had the opportunity to meet some of them who wanted to have a look, meet with entrepreneur, looking for opportunities where they can invest in Indonesia. Conclusion: the market is ready, but the tech entrepreneur not ready. These investors never returned to Indonesia, they were disappointed. I told them that at this time Indonesia needed more than just capital funds, but also role model, mentor who can guide and provide knowledge to the founder who are still young on average.
