How Mature is the Indonesian Carbon Market Ecosystem Currently?
Solum.id team interview with Envmission Co-Founders Tidar Bayu and Gusti Raganata
Launching Indonesian carbon exchange in the near future this will mark the country's readiness to implement a standard carbon trading scheme. However, what may still need to be asked is, how ready is the carbon market ecosystem in this country to face the changes that will come?
In many places, implementing carbon markets or carbon trading often comes with its own unique challenges, and the situation is more or less the same here. Answering this question is not easy, because each stakeholder must have their own perspective.
From the perpetrator's point of view, for example, including groups greentech startups, the presence of carbon exchanges should be seen as a promising opportunity. One of the example is startup newly named envmission, which is truly preparing itself to welcome the Indonesian carbon exchange soon.
Tim Solum.id had the opportunity to have a brief chat with the two founders, Tidar Bayu and Gusti Raganata. As fellow alumni from Japan, both of them felt moved to contribute to Indonesia, especially in terms of climate change mitigation and sustainability.
