Get to know Bluprin, a Site Directory of Architects, Interior Designers, and Contractors

Finding the right professional to renovate or build a house can sometimes be difficult. Because generally the energy obtained comes from word of mouth recommendations, which for everyone is not necessarily suitable. Based on this problem, Ricky Cahyadi, Martin Samroni and Andrew Wibowo founded Bluprin.

Bluprin is a directory site for architects, interior designers, and contractors in Indonesia. Service providers can register and display their portfolio as ShowCase works for sale to potential clients. Renovation consulting services are also available with the Bluprin team. This consultation is useful for prospective clients before getting a recommendation for a list of professional candidates that suits their needs.

Ricky continued, Bluprin himself actually already soft launch in June 2016. At the beginning it used its own funds for its operations. However, it has received investment from angel investors with an undisclosed identity.

Bluprin has captured nearly 1000 service providers spread across 30 cities. For the number of projects that come in around 150 per month, the majority are for home renovation needs. For monetization, Bluprin uses a commission model and subscription.

Challenges and targets

According to Ricky, the main challenge that Bluprin is still facing in the field is the community's readiness to use design services or contractors. It is still necessary to educate about the differences and functions of each professional in building or renovating buildings.

"Another challenge is the readiness of funds. Many property owners who want to renovate but are not ready budget-his. To overcome this, Bluprin cooperates with Bank Mandiri in providing special facilities for renovation loans to clients."

For the future target, Ricky wants to make Bluprin as a one stop platform which allows property owners to seek design inspiration and professional service providers according to their needs.

He also wants to make Bluprin more than just a directory, but an online community through BluprinBlog. The blog is a space for professionals to share information about the latest projects, job vacancies, interviews, and more.
