Elevenia Marketplace is Officially Present, Ready to Bring SME Products "Go Regional"

As a result j XL Axiata (XL) and SK Planet, marketplace Elevenia (XL Planet) is officially presented as one of the e-commerce solutions in Indonesia. Not only that, as stated by XL CEO Hasnul Suhaimi, if the SME products sold at Elevenia are successful, they will be brought "go regional" by implementing similar e-commerce in all operators throughout Asia under the auspices of the Axiata Group.

Already accessible since March 1, Elevenia comes as adoption 11st which is one of the largest marketplace services in South Korea. Why does XL want to enter the e-commerce market? According to Hasnul, this is the next step to bring Indonesian consumers to a digital lifestyle. In fact, XL has been trying to find a suitable partner for its e-commerce business since the end of 2012 and SK Planet from Korea was identified as having the most suitable vision.

It stated that Korea is currently the most developed country in terms of e-commerce, with 10% of total retail consumption done online. This percentage is much higher than other developed countries, including the United States. Prior to Indonesia, SK Planet had also presented a similar collaboration in Turkey under the name n11. For this reason, Elevenia was born to accommodate the needs and growth of online shopping in Indonesia.

Of course, just talking about an undifferentiated marketplace doesn't add value. Elevenia is trying to get more sales partners by establishing 3 sellers zone in Jakarta, which is located at Plaza 89, Mangga Dua Mall and Tanah Abang Blok B. In addition to proving that the seller of goods sold at Elevenia is trusted, the seller can also take advantage of sellers zone for photography sessions on products that will be sold at Elevenia and receive training on selling online.

One form of the seriousness of these two Indonesian and Korean companies to work on the e-commerce business in Indonesia is to bring in 11th CEO James Lee to become CEO of Elevenia. James Lee brought 10 staff from Korea to complete XL Planet's total of 100 employees. According to James, at the official launch of Elevenia today, there were already 7000 sellers offering 600.000 products with 8 main categories.

For marketing strategy, Elevenia cooperates with Cinta Laura as the brand ambassador, presenting advertisements on television, and utilizing the XL network to promote directly to consumers. Starting mid-March, 0% installments are available for 3 and 6 months via credit card for a minimum spend of one million Rupiah from the total amount spent.

Asked about Elevenia's target, James said that in the short term they want to be successful in entering the market and in the long term they want to be the best in the marketplace market in Indonesia.

Considering that XL is a cellular operator service, they don't forget to carry out a mobile strategy by presenting applications for Android and iOS. The iOS application is present to complement the Android application that has been available since the first launch of Elevenia last March 1.
