By cooperating with PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI), Traveloka users can now order, buy and get boarding passes directly only through Traveloka.

“Starting at the end of 2016, Traveloka began to develop its train ticket service, after receiving many requests from our users. After we launched it, it was well received by users from Traveloka,” said Senior VP Business Development Traveloka Caesar Indra.

Train tickets that can be ordered through Traveloka can be done within 90 days to 6 hours before departure time. Destinations that can be selected from the island of Java to Sumatra. Welcoming the upcoming 2017 homecoming, starting in mid-March, purchases for train tickets can already be used by users.

“Our focus is on maintaining stability and user experience from users, so that it can be easier and faster to get train tickets according to their destination, “said Caesar.

Currently, the train ticket purchase service through Traveloka can be done on the Android and iOS platform mobile applications and the mobile site. While for the desktop will be launched in the near future.

An increase in the number of online buyers at PT KAI

So far, PT Kai has never given a train ticket quota specifically to Traveloka or other agents or companies that partner with PT KAI in terms of providing tickets. This is done so that the process can run fairly, according to the capabilities and technology of each company.

"Although it is still more than a month before Traveloka becomes one of our partners who also sells train tickets online, we note that Traveloka has made a significant contribution to PT KAI," said EVP Passenger and Ticketing Sales of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) .

PT KAI also noted that throughout 2016 the purchase of train tickets externally was 60%, while the purchase of tickets directly at the counter was only around 40% of the total. This proves that people are now getting used to buying train tickets online.

"Not only on the island of Java, but we also hope that other Indonesian people can apply the habit" cashless for purchasing train tickets, making it easier for us to collect accurate data and of course providing convenience for users," said Mukti

Regarding schedule changes and train ticket cancellations by users who bought tickets through Traveloka, Mukti emphasized that all these changes are the full responsibility of PT KAI. In the sense that the user cannot make changes or refunds (refund) via Traveloka.

“All requests refund, cancellations and schedule changes are still under the auspices of PT KAI, for that Traveloka users can directly come to the official PT KAI counter to process all requests, not Traveloka, "said Mukti.
