Bank Indonesia Releases Electronic Money Licenses for Five New Companies

Bank Indonesia (BI) re-releases electronic money licensing (e-money) to several organizers. This time the permits were granted to 5 companies, namely:

1. PT Verita Sentosa Internasional (the bearer of the PayTren platform)
2. PT Ezeelink Indonesia (supporter of the Ezeelink platform)
3. PT Solusi Pasti Indonesia (the bearer of the PayPro platform)
4. PT Cakra Ultima Sejahtera (the bearer of the Duwit.id platform)
5. PT E2Pay Global Utama (the carrier of the Kocek platform)

The five companies above have been confirmed to get a license e-money from related parties, however until this writing is published only PayTren has been written on the BI site. This means that as of June 2018, there are 32 companies that have BI electronic money licenses.

Before getting a license e-money, PayTren was frozen, in line with several other platforms such as Bukalapak's BukaDompet, TokoCash's Tokopedia, and Shopee's ShopeePay. BI Regulation (PBI) Number 20 of 2018 which has been in effect since 4 May 2018 –revision of PBI Number 18 of 2016—requires companies to obtain permits if they have colle up the amount of idle funds is more than 1 billion Rupiah.

PayTren is known as an app mobile devices which accommodates various types of payment and digital transactions. Ezeelink is a platform that allows merchant to implement the system e-vouchers and e-coupons as a transaction payment medium. PayPro is an app mobile devices which accommodates various types of payment services and other financial transactions.

E2Pay developed the Kocek application providing a platform e-wallet for various types of payments. While PT Cakra Ultima Sejahtera is developing Duwit.id, we can't provide information about what kind of services it offers, because the site is currently not accessible.
