Bank Danamon's Modern Approach to the D-Mobile Mobile Banking Application

PT Bank Danamon Indonesia, Tbk (Danamon Bank) some time ago officially launched the application mobile banking entitled "D-Mobile". The appearance and function of this application is actually not much different from the application mobile banking mostly, it's just that D-Mobile has a much more modern approach than other similar apps.

As an app mobile banking, D-Mobile's main service focus is on banking transaction facilities for Bank Danamon customers, such as checking balances, transferring funds, as well as various purchase transactions and bill payments. There is nothing special about the main banking function, because in fact the development of mobile banking applications is intended to move the old way of queuing at ATM machines or Plate easy access by hand. Then where is the superiority of the D-Mobile application which refers to the modern approach?

Already available for platforms Android, iOS, and BlackBerry, D-Mobile apparently tried to experiment on innovative banking features aimed at shopping hobbyists and social media users. There are two features that are the main keys in this discussion, namely the Augmented Reality (AR) and SosMed D-Cash.

The AR feature is the main attraction in D-Mobile. This feature allows users to obtain interesting promo information from merchant who have collaborated with Bank Danamon only by scanning the location using a cellphone camera. The display can be seen below. When the user is in a shopping center, this feature will help users find out which stores are collaborating with Bank Danamon and are offering interesting promotions.

The use of AR technology itself in Indonesia is still quite rare. Embedding AR technology in D-Mobile is certainly a good start for AR technology knowledge in the wider community.

It's different with the SosMed D-Cash feature. This feature is arguably the "future" of individual fund transfers. SosMed D-Cash allows users to transfer funds via Facebook account. It should be noted that this is not an e-money system that is the result of a collaboration between Facebook and Bank Danamon, but only the Facebook platform that was borrowed as an introduction to information on transferring funds.

The schematic in short is like this. Users simply enter the payment menu and select Social Media D-Cash which will be forwarded directly to the Facebook login page. After that, set the amount you want to transfer to the recipient and proceed to the transfer order. Automatically, D-Mobile will send a verification code to the recipient's Facebook account. Funds sent can be withdrawn at several Bank Danamon ATMs that support this D-Cash service. Interestingly, recipients of funds do not need a Bank Danamon account to receive funds from D-Mobile customers.

Seeing the advancement of technology adapted by Bank Danamon to the D-Mobile application, I think that Bank Danamon has realized how big the potential of the Indonesian market is for the use of mobile devices that have become part of everyday life. With the use of AR feature technology and interfaceits with the Facebook platform for sending money, I think this application deserves to be benchmarking against other similar applications. Such that said by Consumer Lending & Alternative Channel Head of Bank Danamon Djamin Nainggolan, D-Mobile application can also help create a movement less cash society which continues to be echoed.

"With the presence of D-mobile, we hope that Danamon will become closer to customers like a friend. D-Mobile is a unique mobile banking application and is different from other banking service applications in general. The latest features such as SosMed D-Cash and Augmented Reality that follows the development of this technology can also meet the demands of consumer needs so that it can be used anywhere and anytime with results that can be felt quickly and comfortably.D-Mobile service is one of Bank Danamon's steps in the success of the Non-Cash National Movement to create less money. cash society," said Djamin, quoted from the same source.
