BBM Discovery Becomes the New Mainstay of KMK Online and BlackBerry to Keep Dominating the Indonesian Market

As we all know, EMTEK Group some time ago officially established strategic partnership with Blackberry to develop BlackBerry Messenger (BBM). Under the management of KMK Online, EMTEK's branch company engaged in the internet industry, EMTEK is trying to integrate some of their services with BBM. One of the newest BBM products after the partnership is BBM Discovery. BBM Discovery is a service that is expected to help economic growth in Indonesia by becoming enablers for stakeholders such as SMEs, startups, creators, publisher, as well as the Indonesian government.

According to Hadikusuma Wahab, VP of Product Development of KMK Online, BBM Discovery is an one stop solution to make it easier for BBM users to do other things besides chat, such as reading news, watching videos, and carrying out other commercial activities such as money transfers, shopping for goods, ticket reservations and others. Included in BBM Discovery are BBM News and BBM Video.

So far, BBM Discovery is still in beta stage and is still being developed. According to Dhiku, Hadikusuma's nickname, BBM Discovery tries to become a neutral platform that is open to being able to collaborate with many stakeholders. One of them is collaborating with industry E-commerce by providing convenience in conducting transactions in one place.

From a product development point of view, BlackBerry, represented by Haridas Nair, VP Business Development for BlackBerry, explained that BBM Discovery will complement BBM's existing messaging capabilities. Instant messaging applications are now central to connecting and means of communicating. Some people also need some other communication media such as text, sound, video, and also stickers and emoticons expressive one. With this new service, BlackBerry aims to combine services that are part of a lifestyle into a single platform.

In the context of his collaboration with KMK Online, Haridas explained that BlackBerry felt that it had received a lot of positive things. Some of them are related to acceleration The roadmap, a new service to improve user experience, and can also take advantage of assets owned by KMK Online or EMTEK.

In Indonesia currently BBM Messenger is still one of the top applications for the instant messaging category with 60 million users. To continue to maintain its position and continue to get more users, Dhiku explained that currently the focus of KMK Online is still continuing the development of several services in BBM and also the integration of BBM user profiles.
