Arya Setiadharma: As a Venture Partner at MDI, My Focus Is Helping Fundraising and Dealsourcing

MDI Ventures officially lined up Arya Setiadharma as Venture Partners. Arya, who also serves as CEO of Prasetia Dwidharma, will be responsible for assisting MDI Ventures to do fundraising and dealsourcing.

For fundraising, the focus is on raising investment funds from a wider Limited Partner (LP), including to support MDI Singapore Office. Whereas for dealsourcing, looking for a suitable startup to be injected by MDI. To be able to get information on good startups that are currently fundraising, Arya is responsible for building good relationships with other Venture Capitalists.

"In the world venture capital, I think we should build trust among fellow investors. As an investor, I will not lie investor another just to save one investment I. Of course, I will be happy if there is a Prasetia portfolio startup that can get investment from MDI. But I have told the MDI team, that with my position at MDI, they should be more critical and selective to Prasetia's portfolio startups that entered pipeline, said Arya.

This year, Prasetia Dwidharma is one of the venture capital who are actively investing. In Indonesia, they inject funds in Redkendi, Doogether, Nimbly, and Seekmi. While abroad they participated in funding from Dropee (Malaysia), Kinexcs, Postr, TransferFi, VRCollab, and Interviewer AI (Singapore).

In addition, they also invested in several Y Combinator graduates, such as Traverse Technologies, Reelables, Spiral Genetics, Switchboard, and Brainkey.

Asking about the investment criteria, Arya explained, "What we saw first was founder-his. Do you really understand problem what do they want to solve? After that we'll see if it's big or not market who want to target. Only the last we will see scalability these startups. Prasetia has invested a lot in B2B startups."
