Twitter Account Verification for Public Reopened

Along with the implementation of a new policy regarding account verification eligibility, Twitter has re-opened the verification process (or blue tick) with an updated process.

Blue ticks on Twitter accounts are often considered as a sign to make your Twitter account cooler, but actually this is a sign that Twitter uses to help people identify the authenticity of accounts that are of interest to the public.

Indirectly it makes the account cooler because with this sign the account can look more credible. The ultimate goal of applying this sign is of course to create a more healthy and informed conversation.

Quoted from the official release: "With today's launch of the verification app process, Twitter is also introducing a new guide for verified accounts. This verification guide aims to encourage healthier conversations on Twitter. This guide is designed with a philosophical perspective in mind to set a good example for others. , Tweet about other people as that person wants to be Tweeted, and serve the public conversation in an authentic, respectful and considerate manner. All accounts, including verified accounts, must comply with the Twitter Rules. Verified accounts that repeatedly violate the Twitter Rules will face the possibility of removing their blue badge."

Then anyone who knows is entitled to get this blue tick. Twitter said, among others, that these accounts fall into the following categories: governments, companies, trademarks and organizations, news and journalism organizations, entertainment, sports and gaming, activists, event organizers and other influential individuals.

In addition to entering the special criteria that are also in the verification policy, the account that wants to get this badge or blue tick must also have a display name, profile photo, and a verified email address or mobile number. Accounts must also be active within the last six months and have a record of compliance with Twitter rules.

Later all Twitter users will be able to see this verification process directly in the account settings tab. The rollout will be gradual for all Twitter users.

For the flow itself, you can see below:

Later there will be an email response from Twitter and if it is approved then a blue tick will appear automatically in the account. If rejected, users can reapply 30 days from the first email date.

If you haven't entered the categories already mentioned, don't be sad because Twitter will continue to add other categories, such as for scientists, academics, and religious leaders.
