Moselo Now Focuses on Being a "Creative Service Marketplace"

Introducing the service officially, now also accommodates in-app payments

About almost a year ago we discussed Moselo with Richard Fang. At that time Moselo was a Weekend Inc project in the form of chat commerce and Richard is still CEO of Weekend Inc. Fast forward today, Moselo has become a separate company and has developed into a platform that connects creative industry players with consumers. It's easy for us to call it creative services marketplace. This service also accommodates online payment schemes in its chat platform.

To DailySocial, Richard mentioned the service is supported by angel investors, who was not named, and currently has around 30 employees, most of whom are engineers.

Moselo now has 10 thousand registered users and 1000 expert. Consultant here is the designation for creative service providers.

Richard explained that the creative industry has various challenges in Indonesia. "As a designer, I am familiar with the creative industry, so I quite understand the challenges faced by creative industry players."

The next generation (Millennial) indeed many have passion in the creative industry. Nonetheless, the idea of ​​pursuing passion This full-time job is often opposed for reasons that are not necessarily able to guarantee a life like other public works.

"Because it starts with something you like, if you can develop it into a product for other people and produce it, it will certainly give more satisfaction to creative industry players," said Richard.

Focus Moselo is a beauty service industry, photography, videography, design, music, and entertainment services. Richard said that so far, beauty, design, and photography services are still the segments that get the most interest, both from consumers and experts.

On the one hand, freelance portals actually provide a variety of intersecting services, although Moselo is here with the hope of providing a better discussion and transaction experience.

Moselo provides browsing, conversing, consultation, and shopping processes in one application.

Payment platforms

Using Midtrans as provider payment gateway, consumers can pay directly on the platform when they are sure of the service they want to buy. As with e-commerce services, funds will be deposited by Moselo before all work is completed.

Richard admits that internally there have been discussions about whether we need to apply the DP or not. However they are now finally implementing the full payment first. Richard recommends experts to be more creative in providing service packages, for example providing consulting services, outside of the work packages that can be chosen.

Future plan

This year Moselo has a lot of product plans already in pipeline. Even so they will testing one by one to validate the premises they have determined.

Throughout this year Moselo is expected to gain 75 thousand users, with the number of experts increasing to 25 thousand.

“The goal is to explore passion into something more useful, and can be productive for them.

"I hope that Moselo can be a place for creative industry players to connect easily to consumers, and help increase the growth of the creative industry in Indonesia," concluded Richard.
