Current Is A Smart Debit Card To Teach Teens How To Manage Money
Through the application, parents can control transactions in detail while setting a number of restrictions
Teaching children how to manage money is not easy, considering that we ourselves sometimes experience difficulties. But a startup named Current believe they can help with a controlled Visa debit card via application.
Current allows teens to shop online online as well as in physical stores using money from their own bank account, which was transferred by the father or mother through their respective accounts. Instead of giving pocket money in cash, Current invites parents to adopt digital trends while teaching money management principles to their children.
As a parent, you can choose to send money manually, or automatically every week. Through the Current application, you can also set homework that must be completed before the pocket money you give goes into your children's account.
Detailed control is the main advantage of Current. You can also set limits on the money your child spends on a daily basis, or block card access at places like bars, hotels or even casinos.
All transactions can be monitored from the Current application, either by the child holding the card or by yourself as a parent. Also interesting is the feature to teach children the habit of saving, where every transaction will be rounded up and the rest is stored in a special 'wallet'.
Current also wants to teach children the principle of sharing with others, where they can easily donate their pocket money to various charities.
Current is certainly not free. You are required to pay a subscription fee of $5 per month. There is also an option for a $36 year ($3 per month) subscription, or a $48 two-year ($2 per month) subscription option. Unfortunately for now Current is only available in the US, but the developer already has plans to expand to other countries.
