Crowde Announces Funding Raise from GREE Ventures

The additional funds will be used by Crowde to reach more farmers

An agritech startup in the Crowde funding segment announced that it received funding from GREE Ventures. There is no information on how many funds were successfully secured in this funding round. It is planned that this new fund will be used by Crowde to expand the reach of farmers who are experiencing capital difficulties in developing their businesses and turn them into farmers agropreneur for the creation of an efficient agricultural ecosystem. Something Crowde was aiming for.

Crowde CEO Yohanes Sugihtononugroho said this additional funding was a form of trust by GREE Ventures and other investors to the agricultural startup.

Earlier this year Crowde inaugurate a special application to make it easier for investors to provide loans. The application can be used by investors to choose the projects they want to fund and monitor the investment results.

“We will use this additional fund to increase the number of farmers that we can reach through additional capital. Because we realize that there are still many farmers who have major problems in their capital, it is difficult to get loans from financial institutions, “explained Yohanes.

As a platform engaged in the agricultural sector, Crowde tries to understand farmers further. Crowde wants to form a sustainable agricultural ecosystem by bringing together farmers with various parties that can facilitate farmer projects. Throughout 2018, Crowde has managed to channel funds of IDR 30 billion collected from 24.000 investors to 10.000 farmers in 276 villages in Indonesia with a focus on agriculture, livestock and fisheries projects.

"We hope that with additional capital that we can distribute to farmers, they can improve the quality of their agricultural products so that their income will also increase," Yohanes added.

In its efforts to build a sustainable ecosystem, Crowde focuses and prioritizes educating farmers, in terms of technology and financial management. This is the main problem for farmers in developing their business. Crowde also cooperates with farmer shops and off taker (all over Indonesia to realize zero cash society so that farmers no longer receive capital in cash.

"Our determination is to be able to help up to 100 thousand farmers with a capital distribution value of IDR 70 billion in 2018, we continue to strive to become an agricultural capital platform with the spirit of mutual cooperation and trustworthiness," concluded Yohanes.
